Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
Reflecting on One’s Own Teaching Through Research

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning […] refers to the scholarly engagement of university instructors—within their academic disciplines—with their own teaching and/or student learning in the institutional context. This involves investigation and systematic reflection, with the goal of making insights and findings accessible to an interested public, thereby fostering exchange and discussion. (Huber, 2014, p. 21)
As part of the Baden-Württemberg Certificate in University Didactics, instructors at Heidelberg University conduct their own teaching research projects in the spirit of SoTL.
