Medical Physics for Physicists Content Module 1
Basic Knowledge
For future interdisciplinary professional practice, basic medical knowledge is an essential prerequisite. The content of the five Basic Knowledge courses is largely independent of one another; however, we recommend attending them as a complete unit. They include:
- Anatomy, physiology, and pathology (anatomy and radiological anatomy of the skull, head and neck, thorax, abdomen, pelvis), as well as functions of the individual organs and organ systems of the human body
- Introduction to cell biophysics and insights into selected cellular processes and methods
- Fundamentals of statistics and aspects of medical informatics
- Medical engineering (medical treatment areas and the latest technologies)
- Organisational and legal principles of the health care system, hospital organisation
