Medical Physics for Physicists Content

The continuing education program Medical Physics for Physicists provides practice-oriented expertise with a focus on radiation therapy. It combines technical-physical expertise with medical-biological knowledge, qualifying you for a promising and in-demand profession: as a generalist, you are expected to be well-versed in the fundamentals of medicine, while as a specialist you must be familiar with and able to apply the most modern technical equipment. With your expertise, you will work together with physicians to further develop medical technology for new treatment and diagnostic procedures.

The program is designed as a continuing education course, and the modules can be attended alongside employment. Four thematic focuses are covered over a period of about 1.5 years. Following the basic knowledge module, three modules on advanced areas take place. Our program includes a well-developed e-learning concept that greatly facilitates participation while working.

The program is aligned with DGMP recognition requirements and is based on the curriculum of the WBO 2022. The number of hours therefore follows the specifications of the training regulations: 150 hours of basic knowledge, 120 hours in the specialication field, and 90 hours in the two elective fields.
