Democracy.Create.  Continuing Education for Democracy Facilitators

To reach heterogeneous target groups in democracy education, special concepts and toolkits are required. Ideally, these include scientifically sound content inputs, demanding didactic and pedagogical teaching concepts, and accompanying advisory services.

With this aim, the project Democracy.Create. develops compact continuing education programs for democracy facilitators. In view of the manifest and potential threats to an open society, this is a complex task. At the same time, it offers the opportunity to develop models of democracy education for facilitators and to test them in a wide variety of contexts.

The project involves actors from the Alliance for Lifelong Learning, a network of educational providers in Baden-Württemberg from diverse institutional and societal backgrounds with cooperative structures.

Project partners are:

• Universities in the Regional Group Baden-Württemberg of the German Association for Continuing Education and Distance Learning  (DGWF) – Heidelberg, Konstanz, and Tübingen Universities, as well as the Universities of Education Heidelberg and Karlsruhe
• Educational Center of the Archdiocese of Freiburg
• Kolping Education
