Diversity-Sensitive Teaching Accessibility in Education
Develop independent, online-based teaching competencies to promote engaging and inclusive instruction.

Description
This course is designed to encourage instructors to reflect on their own teaching in terms of potential barriers for students. The goal is to identify and pragmatically reduce these barriers. The course goes beyond legally mandated equal access to higher education for individuals with disabilities - it aims to foster broader participation in university teaching for all students.
The course includes concrete tasks and practical tips. It is structured into three sections. It begins with a brief introduction to the topic of accessibility and then addresses more specific aspects of accessibility for individuals with visual and hearing impairments.
We recommend completing the three sections in sequential order. However, you are free to focus on specific sections that are most relevant to you. The accompanying portfolio invites you to engage with the perspectives of individuals affected by accessibility barriers and encourages reflection. You are also encouraged to apply the video content and recommendations directly to your own teaching practice. Portfolio tasks are to be completed before, during, or after watching the videos, as indicated throughout the course materials. You will find specific instructions in the Moodle course, within the videos, and in the portfolio document.
We hope you enjoy the course and gain inspiring and creative ideas for making your teaching more accessible to all students.
