Weiterbildungsprogramm Mediation Advanced Training for Mediators
Within the Mediation continuing education program, we offer advanced training seminars on different fields of application and for the expansion of mediation-related skills. The open group supervision serves both to reflect on real practice cases and to refresh methods. Supervision as advanced training is open to all mediators, for example, to receive confidential input on personal development potential. For mediators seeking certification under the ZMediatAusbV, supervision is a mandatory part of the training.
The advanced training seminars last between 6 and 15 hours and are held over one to three days. As a rule, these are in-person seminars. Live online elements are included, or the entire seminar conducted online, only if didactically necessary and appropriate.
According to §3 of the ZMediatAusbV, mediators are required to attend advanced training events totaling at least 40 hours every four years after completing their training. This obligation applies to both certified mediators and mediators without certification. Those seeking accreditation with national umbrella associations such as the Federal Association for Mediation (BM) or the German Association for Family Mediation (BAFM) must also attend advanced training seminars on specific fields of application as part of the 80-hour additional qualification.
Our advanced training seminars and supervisions are also open to interested individuals who have already acquired knowledge of mediation in another context. Before booking individual advanced training seminars, consultation with the program director and admission to the continuing education program are required.
Selected seminars are designed to also be suitable for members of specific professional groups without prior mediation experience. If you are interested, please contact the Heidelberg Institute for Mediation – Training or the Department of Scientific Training at Heidelberg University.
All participants receive a certificate of participation in accordance with the ZMediatAusbV, issued by Heidelberg University and the Heidelberg Institute for Mediation - Training.
