CELPE-Bras
Celpe-Bras (Brazilian Language Certificate for Portuguese as a Foreign Language) is the only official Brazilian exam to certify language proficiency in Portuguese as a foreign language. The exam was developed by the Instituto Nacional Anísio Teixeira (INEP), a Brazilian government agency responsible, among other things, for the quality of Brazilian education and conducting official educational assessments and examinations.
The Language Centre at heiSKILLS is an authorised testing centre for Celpe-Bras.
The exam certifies candidates at four levels of proficiency:
- Intermediate Level (corresponds to level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Upper-Intermediate Level (corresponds to level B2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
- Advanced Level (corresponds to level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
Registration for the exam is via the official website of the Celpe-Bras exam:

It is not necessary to specify a particular level, as the result of the exam determines which language level is indicated on the certificate.
The Brazilian Ministry of Education only offers two exam dates per year, so don't miss the opportunity to register for the exam now.

Exam period: 21 -24 October 2025
Results: 17 December 2025
