heiGRADE Implementation

For a heiGRADE program to be both effective and efficient, many factors must be taken into account. These need to be considered already at the planning stage: whether concerning didactics, target competencies, or the intended audience – we support you at every step of the design process and adapt our role to your needs.

Competence

The core aim of continuing education is to impart new competencies. It is therefore all the more important to define in advance which target competencies participants should acquire through your program.

We advise you on all related questions and help formulate both subject-specific and cross-disciplinary learning objectives. In doing so, we also take potential legal and technological developments in the respective professional field into account.

Demand

Direct relevance to practice, with a view to future fields of work and activities, is of particular importance to us. Here it is essential to consider whether comparable programs already exist and whether your planned program will stand out sufficiently from competitors.

These aspects are also part of our needs analysis, which marks the starting point of each program design.

Target Group

Continuing education can address a wide range of participants. Some hold a university degree, others have equivalent qualifications recognized in the German Qualifications Framework (DQR). The target group not only defines the intended level of a heiGRADE program, but also shapes its thematic orientation: Should topics be refreshed or extended? Should a completely new qualification be pursued? We are here to support you in answering these essential questions.

Didactics and Format

The group addressed by a heiGRADE program is in a particular learning situation: continuing education takes place alongside professional duties, often combined with family responsibilities, and the participants usually come from a heterogeneous background. This requires didactic approaches that allow for flexible, time- and location-independent learning.

We respond to these challenges with modern didactics tailored to participants’ needs: online modules, blended learning, condensed seminar days. To provide your program idea with a suitable format and optimal didactics, we adapt them together with you. In this, we are supported by the Division for Teaching and Learning, with whom we work closely.

All considerations regarding didactics and format result in a module handbook at heiGRADE. Modularization is based on scientific and analytical criteria, but pragmatic aspects such as the professional applicability of the content are also taken into account.

Resources

A sustainable program requires cost-covering financial planning and efficient operations – the essentials of any fee-based continuing education. We support you with our economic expertise in developing a realistic budget plan. In doing so, we review the internal resources you can contribute and identify which external resources are additionally required. Last but not least, we take into account a target group-oriented fee structure.
