heiGRADE Programs Our Network

Heidelberg and the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region are characterized by a high concentration of research institutions and business enterprises. This offers Ruperto Carola (Heidelberg University) and its institutions a broad and diverse network of cooperation partners from both research and practice. The wide range of collaborative opportunities creates a unique field of options for instructors and learners.

Internal Cooperations

Ideally, the development and implementation of heiGRADE continuing education offerings involve several partners. Collaboration with Heidelberg University institutes and academic institutions ensures both interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary approaches. Long-standing partners include for example:

  • In medically oriented programs: Heidelberg University Hospital, the Institute of Psychology and the Interfaculty Biomedical Facility
  • In programs on professional and constructive communication in workplace contexts: the Institute of Educational Science and the Alfred Weber Institute for Economics
  • In pedagogically oriented programs: the Institute for the Study of Christian Social Service and the Institute for German as a Foreign Language

We are also supported by the department Study Skills & Teaching to ensure the highest quality in didactics.

External Partnerships

heiGRADE training programs benefit from strong external academic and professional collaborations:

  • Associations, institutions or organizations that bring a practical perspective to scientifically continuing education
  • Professional associations that enable additional certifications and ensure that university certification is recognized in professional settings
  • Legal bodies that ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in continuing education

Collegial Networking

In the context of scientific trainings, regular collegial exchange with other educational institutions and relevant stakeholders is a key factor for professionalism. Current trends are discussed and developments actively shaped. Knowing and applying these trends contributes significantly to the long-term success of educational trainings.
The following are particularly noteworthy:

  • The German Association for Continuing Education and Distance Learning (DGWF), a nationwide organization active down to the state level
  • The Network for Professional Development in Baden-Württemberg, a quality alliance of regional education providers supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg
