Anniversary “Three Decades of the Heidelberg Institute for Mediation and Cooperation with Heidelberg University”
Founded in 1995 by Lis Ripke and Prof. Dr. Reiner Bastine to offer a well-founded mediation training in Germany, the Heidelberg Institute for Mediation celebrates its 30th anniversary. Almost as long, since 1996, there has been a cooperation with Heidelberg University in the field of continuing scientific education within a public-private partnership. Over the course of three decades, 2,200 people from diverse professions with backgrounds in psychology, law, medicine, the arts, and economics have been trained.
Full-Day Anniversary Event on November 22, 2025
10:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.
Participation fee: €250 (including refreshments during coffee breaks, a light lunch and evening meal, as well as beverages)

All participants of the anniversary event will have the opportunity to meet old and new acquaintances—especially from the training cohorts of 1995 to 2025—, to gain deeper self-awareness through guided experiential exercises, and to draw inspiration and intellectual nourishment from lectures and workshops. In the evening, the celebration will include food and drinks, opportunities for exchange, as well as music and dancing.
Certified mediators fulfill their continuing education obligation according to § 4 of the German Ordinance on the Training and Continuing Education of Certified Mediators (ZMediatAusbV) by attending.
