Artificial intelligence in teaching
Information, links and resources

Generative AI is transforming the world of education and offers opportunities as well as challenges for university teaching: AI can support teachers in promoting the individual skills development of their students, for example by creating personalised learning materials or using automated feedback. On the other hand, there are challenges relating to data protection and new opportunities for cheating in certain exam formats.
The University of Heidelberg recognises the transformative potential of generative AI tools for promoting research and teaching and therefore encourages the prudent, ethically acceptable and legally secure integration of these technologies into scientific work processes, provided that their use meets the highest standards of academic integrity and transparency.
To this end, Heidelberg University is promoting a community of teachers who see AI as an opportunity and want to integrate it into their teaching in an informed and targeted manner. On this page, we have compiled a wide range of advisory, information and training services to deepen understanding of AI in higher education and to introduce innovative, AI-supported teaching and learning opportunities.
