Workshop on Didactics with teaching staff from Ukraine, Georgia and Kazakhstan
On May 27 and 28, 2024, Dr. Rafael Klöber and Maria Bregulla from heiSKILLS: Lehren & Lernen held the workshop "Foundations of Teaching and Learning at the University". The workshop was part of the final week of the ERASMUS project “Building Academic Capacity in Global Health in the Eastern Europe - Central Asia Region” coordinated by Jamila Nabieva at the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health. With 30 lecturers from eight different universities in Ukraine, Georgia and Kazakhstan, didactic principles of teaching and learning at university level were prepared by the participants in a blended learning course before coming to Germany. These were then discussed and evaluated during the two-day on-site workshop. This intercultural exchange of university teachers from the field of Global Health focused primarily the possibilities for adapting innovative didactic approaches at the participants' respective home institutions.
The many years of cooperation with the Heidelberg Institute of Global Health in various international projects repeatedly provides an opportunity to constructively review one's own didactic attitudes and convictions in intercultural contexts. This contributes to the continuous development of the Department of Teaching & Learning at the heiSKILLS Competence and Language Center.
