Project Profile DeepLife: Applications of Deep Learning Methods in the Life Sciences

The project aims to develop and provide digital, interactive formats for teaching methods in machine learning and deep learning.

Within the 4EU+ framework, a course on applications of deep learning in the life sciences has been offered for several years. These applications include medical image analysis, single-cell genomics, and protein structure analysis.

Building on existing materials—slides, videos, and exercise scripts—the project will create an online portal accessible to a broad audience. This platform will enable users to engage with and apply these methods in a straightforward and practical way.

The use of AI in the life sciences is becoming increasingly important. By developing intuitive teaching materials, the project lowers the entry barrier to this complex field and makes it accessible to a wider audience.
